Once you have been blessed with a Portuguese Water Dog you will wonder what you had ever done without having one, two or in some cases even more.
Our family of 5 purchased our first Portuguese Water Dog in 2000, after extensive research. Our decision to purchase a PWD, to join our family was based on the fact that the breed was non-allergenic and having several family members with allergy problems it required us to have a non-shedding dog. This breed was more than we ever expected. We were extremely impressed with the dogs loyalty and devoted love on top of always wanting to please. This lead us to our second PWD in 2001 and this gave us the opportunity to let other families enjoy this magnificent breed.
Presently, I am involved with our local kennel club both as a participant and as an agility instructor. The dogs and I are active in agility, conformation and now trying our hand at rally-o.
